The way that traffic flows to and from Santa Monica right now is actually one of the reasons why I think the westside commands such a premium. Working in downtown and living in Santa Monica with a no traffic, crusin 65mph each way commute is worth many 10s of thousands of dollars (if not 100s).
But since I rent it is more like a few hundred dollars a month extra to be in Santa Monica vs. other areas.
All that being said, I would love to be able to ditch my car. Even lovely SM has gotten so crowded on surface streets that I wait until late at night on weekdays or early mornings on weekends to run any errands or do any driving around town...whats worse is that everyone is so desperate to try to avoid traffic that they are speeding down your once peaceful residential street which you just paid millions of dollars to live on! Awesome
westside bubble, are you planning on being at the meeting tomorrow night?
Mike, that's the problem with my posting anonymously: you wouldn't know me if I was there. Feels sometimes like I'm living the Bruce Wayne / Batman thing.
well i'm going to try to go. perhaps we'll run into each other.
I likely will be there, too, Mike. It's an important project.
